o2 || Rooftop Prince || Review
|| !!! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS !!! ||

Yay! Another review!

So I just finished watching this drama about 2 days ago and I miss it already! It took me about 2 weeks to finish it, I was soo hooked and wanting to watch more all the time.

It's yet another comedy-romance (my goal is to watch all of this genre) but keep in mind it's also century period.

Concept: A prince from the Joseon Era comes back to modern day Seoul with a team he put together to find how his love (princess) was murdered. Through it, he gets himself into deeper situations such as; finding out the true identity of others/reincarnations of Joseon and falling in love with someone that isn't the princess.

Writing: This was well written when it came to emotions, you could seriously feel what they were feeling, which is probably why I cried twice while watching this (in ep 18 & 19). The first 5 ep. were the ones that had actual humor which was disappointing. But it was very funny seeing the characters adapting to the modern time and objects. I was also disappointed by the drag out situations from ep 14 (I think) and onward till ep 18. It truly frustrated me when it came to the antagonist's getting caught for what they did wrong because it took way too long for that to happen.

Characters:

Lee Gak/ Tae Yong (Yoochun); Yoochun really did well on portraying two very different characters. It wasn't just the way they talked that was different but it was that Lee Gak was very stubborn and prideful while Tae Yong was more easygoing. Nevertheless I really favored Lee Gak more because he's so cute when it came to his feelings!

Pak Ha/ Bu Yong (Han Ji-Min);
I laughed and I cried with this character. She is such a strong character and held herself up high when things went wrong. She plays her emotions out and doesn't hesitate. Throwing two cups of water (not just 1 but 2!) on the antagonist isn't what you see in most leading ladies.

Tae Mu (Lee Tae Sung);
I without a doubt I loathed this character. It was an all around evil character that had no inch of good nor sudden change of heart but maybe that's why he's the best antagonist I've seen in dramas. He did his job full throttle and well. Although I prefer his character in Playful Kiss rather than this, he was still exceptional!

Se Na/Hwa Yong (Jung Yoo-Mi);
Another antagonist. The role was played very well and even though she did a good deed towards the end and had a bit sense of wronging, I still can't bring myself to accept this antagonist like the other. I don't know, maybe because it's a girl and usually they're the hardest to accept, but the fact she was one of those snobby villains that would non-stop make trouble for the protagonist AND get away with it for awhile...UGH!!! I just did not like her.

Man Bo (Lee Minho);
I CANNOT believe i'm a good month older then him! Anyways, I really loved this character, the way he made the others seem stupid and how he could memorize things by just looking at them. His character came in very much handy with some of the situations. I think the others would truly be lost if it wasn't for him.

Chi San (Choi Woo-shik);
He's so cute and squishy! He was like a bratty little brother (even though he's older in RL) that knew everything about anything. He's the ultimate gossip queen (admit it, he did act like a little diva at times).

Yung Sul (Jung Suk Won);
I do believe he was my favorite character. Just the personality of him was brilliant. He was all about protecting the prince, then to being seen as just a airhead, to him finally having a mind of his own. He was also a character that the prince needed by his side in certain situations. I truly think he had a thing for Pak Ha though :D

Overall: This was the first drama that I had ever cried to. I'm not sure if others have but I don't usually cry during movies or shows. My mom says i'm immune to cry over things of that sort, which I admit I am because I've never cried over a movie, nevertheless a show. SO i'd say this is more of an emotional romance rather then a comedy romance. The hint of mystery and period made it all the better and complete. I really wanted to see if Pak Ha would meet Man Bo, Chi San, and Yung Sul's modern doppel-gangers/reincarnations but I suppose the writers didn't have that come to mind.

I would highly recommend this drama! It has truly made it into my top list.

Watch it! GOGOGOGO! Watch the Joseon Power Rangers xDD

No way. No way in hell was she going to be stuck in a car for nearly an hour with someone that was claiming to be her future husband. THERE WAS NO WAY! And to top it off her mother was driving them. The fact that it was her mother who was setting her up made it known that this ride was going to be longer than it should be.

But nonetheless, there she was, pushed in the car by her parents. She looked out the window and saw Yixing say his goodbyes to his parents. She turned around and looked at the backseat where the luggage was being loaded.

“Pssss! Shinyoon!” She garnered the attention of the butler. “Get me out of here.” She mouthed demandingly.

Shinyoon bowed, “I’m sorry Miss Jihyun.” Before Jihyun could speak, the trunk shut, leaving Jihyun dumbstruck.

“Ugh…” She turned back around and crossed her arms.

Her door opened, startling her. Yixing looked at her with embarrassment. He thought that side was empty but was clearly wrong. Jihyun sighed and unbuckled herself before sliding over.

“Come on.” She murmured.

Yixing cleared his throat before stepping inside. He sat next to her and buckled himself in. He looked down at his fingers before glancing at her slightly. He could see the slight irritation from her and couldn't help but roll his eyes.

“So judging…” He murmured in mandarin.

Mrs. Heo stepped into the car with a beaming smile of the two in the backseat. It was no joke that she was going to drive them for an hour to their destination with high heels on. No, it was no joke at all. She closed the door and looked at them.

“Seatbelts.” She spoke with some enthusiasm before starting the car.

Yixing buckled himself in and glanced once again at Jihyun. She had her headphones in so he knew he would be stuck trying to communicate with his future mother in-law.

“I’m so happy that you’d agree to such a thing.” Mrs. Heo began. “You must have really fallen for Jihyun when you saw her picture. She may seem a bit distant but she’ll warm up to you I’m sure.”

The only thing Yixing got to comprehend from such fast talking was happy to agreeing. Everything else was too fast for him to catch on and he was feeling a bit uneasy of being on his own for a whole school year and this weekend for practice. He really hoped that his friend got the scholarship and agrees to enrollment. He smiled small at the women who continued to talk, acting as if he knew/listened to what she was saying.

Agree? He smiled small and looked out the window. He was a man who believed in fate. If a random rich women who purposed that he was perfect for her daughter and wanted them to get married, plus the fact that he was seemingly attractive to her. If it wasn’t fate then he didn’t know what was.

A sudden loud honk snapped him out of his thoughts; the car came to a hard stop. Yixing reflexively put his arm out to protect Jihyun of hitting her head against the driver’s seat. She gasped and gripped onto the arm that held her back.

“Sorry sweeties, it’s been awhile since I drove.” Mrs. Heo giggled and began to drive again. “I forgot people like to cut in front of others.”

Jihyun looked down at the arm that stretched across her chest and then to Yixing. Their eyes met slowly. Jihyun let go of his arm and Yixing retrieved it. It was silent as he watched Jihyun tuck her long fringe behind her ear as it fell in her face from the immediate stop. He opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it, his shyness of talking overcoming him.

Jihyun exhaled sharply before looking back out the window, furrowing her brows as she felt her face flush. She could feel her cheeks burn and prayed that no one noticed. She froze when she felt the slim, fit arm slither over her and grabbed her seat belt. She heard it click on lock and still couldn't breathe properly. She was beginning to get annoyed by her body’s sudden fluster.

The rest of the ride was silent except for the usual blabber of Mrs. Heo to no one particular, it was like she was talking to herself but Yixing would be polite and nod every once in a while.

Once they reached destination, Yixing immediately looked over at Jihyun. He stretched out his neck to see that she had fallen asleep.

“She must not be an early riser.” He spoke to himself.

He opened his door and stepped out, passing by a nagging Mrs. Heo who was giving the luggage unloaders a rough time, and making his way to the other side of the car.

He opened the door slowly, “Jihyun…” He called softly. “Jihyun?” He poked her cheek and watched her eyes flutter open slowly. “We’re here.” He spoke informally, making her chuckle slightly. He became embarrassed at the sudden rude wording. He reached over and unbuckled her seatbelt.

Jihyun watched every little thing he did. From unbuckling her seat belt, grabbing her bag, to suddenly taking her hand and leading her out of the car. It was clearly a different felling from when the maids or butlers do things for her. It was a completely different feeling. Maybe she was a bit close-minded to him.

She let go of his hand and walked away from him to the front where her mother was. Yixing took this time to grab the luggage from the staff.

“Alright.” Mrs. Heo smiled. “Have fun and I’ll see you at weekends end huh?” She embraced Jihyun in a crushing hug.

“Mom~ let go…” Jihyun whined.

Mrs. Heo let go and looked at Yixing. “Take care of her uh?” She hugged him and Jihyun nearly burst into laughter and his shocked look but she held it in as much as she could.

They watched the car drive off and more come up to the gates. Yixing and Jihyun made their ways towards the Chalet to be stopped by Jihye.

“Oh Jihyun-shi, glad you could make it.” She smiled as Jihyun bowed to higher authority. “And who is this?”

Jihyun opened her mouth to respond but got cut off by Yixing.

“Her husband.” He meant to say future fiancée but he didn’t know exactly how to say that.

Jihyun’s eyes bulged out and her mouth moved with a clash of incoherent words of explanations.

“O-oh…Jihyun-shi’s?” Jihye asked with slight disbelief. “This Jihyun?” She placed her hands on Jihyun’s shoulders and looked at Yixing.

Yixing nodded.

“I see…” Jihye smiled with uncertainty. “We can talk later.” She whispered to Jihyun. “It was nice meeting you…?” Yixing gave a confused face. “Your name?”

He understood the word name.

“Yixing.” He spoke politely with a bow.

Jihye smiled and waved off. Jihyun snapped her gaze to Yixing with a redden face.

“Ya! You can’t just go telling people that! We aren't married, you crazy person!” She huffed. She looked at the innocently confused and blank face Yixing had on. Oh how she wanted to punch that cuteness off his face. “Do you not understand?!”

Yixing shook his head. “No.”

“Aish…” Jihyun bit her bottom lip till it turned red before looking back at him. “Here. School. You. Me.” She made an X with her arms. “No husband. Understand?” Yixing nodded and cocked his head slightly to the side, wondering why that was. “Good.” She nodded. “Let’s go get our room keys…” She murmured, motioning him to follow which he gladly did.

Yixing cocked his head to the side as he side glanced at Jihyun. If he wasn’t her husband or anything like that here…then he must just be her boyfriend. He smiled small at the realization.

“No husband but boyfriend.” He spoke in mandarin, making Jihyun just shrug off the foreign language.

Ah my new bias! He's made it on my bias list when his teaser photo came out. He's suppose to be the mysterious one but I swear he is so cute! Also the maknae (another giant one) but Seungjin claims the title since they're only a few days apart & he looks more like one.

Still Seungyub is the maknae in my eyes.

He's my favorite out of A-JAX but I can't figure out who he reminds me of :/

But seriously, A-JAX got so much promotion for a rookie group. They're on Vitamin Water & inside the subway station & trains. Like their faces are on all of that! DSP knows how to put their new groups out there.

But I mean these boys deserve it. They have such amazing voices, very versatile and looks *_* I can't...

Give me a link if theirs a group of them so I can join :D

“Jihyun…Jihyun~” Mrs. Heo stared down at her unconscious daughter. She was beginning to wonder if this was truly the girl she gave birth to. What she saw before her had no resembling personality to any relatives. “Jihyun….?” This was the first time she had actual time to wake her own daughter up and see her off to school.

Jihyun shifted in her sleep, turning upright and revealing the panda eye mask she was wearing. The women opened her mouth to demand her daughters awakening when Ms. Shau, a maid that had been with the Heo family for years, walked in. She bowed to Mrs. Heo and revealed a pot and pan. Mrs. Heo stared with a quizzical expression until the noise of the colliding kitchen materials irrupted. She felt her heart ponding rapidly as she was caught off guard. This was how her daughter was woken every morning?

Jihyun groaned and lazily sat up. She had one eye open as she looked at the two females. Her eyes fully opened when she saw her mother being one of them.

“Mom?” She asked with confusion. “Why aren’t you at work or…something?” She asked in a dry morning voice.

Mrs. Heo straightened herself up before speaking. “I’m taking you to your school’s New Year resort, now get up and get dress. Balli” She clapped her hands together before leaving.

Jihyun stared up at what was basically her nanny. “What is she talking about Ms. Shau?” Jihyun asked during a yawn.

“Aye, you still don’t listen to Miss Ji-hye.” She pulled the blanket off the bed. “You will be going to the Chalet for 2 days on-oh never mind! Just get dress and I will have your things packed.” Her hawk eyes narrowed at the unmoving nuisance of a child. “Go!”

Jihyun jumped and immediately got up. “Alright alright.”

She walked out of her room towards the bathroom. As she reached for the knob, the door opened miraculously and out walked a boy she had never seen before.

“Mom! Why is there a stranger in the house?!” Jihyun nearly screamed at the emotionless stare she was receiving. It was creeping her out; it was like the guy was a robot. “Dad!” She beamed at her father who exited his home office. She pointed at the boy slightly, not making it noticeable and rather hidden. “Who’s he?” She mouthed.

But the boy saw everything she was doing. He rolled his eyes with no amusement.

Her father came up to them and smiled. “This is Yixing, he’s a possibility to your future.” He patted the boy’s shoulder, making his eyes nearly pop out of his skull from the hard impact. “Come now Yixing, we have much to talk about in regards of the care of my daughter.”

Jihyun furrowed her brows as her father left, Yixing bowing at his leave. He met her eyes and bowed at her before leaving to catch up with his future father-in-law. Jihyun searched her mind for a clean explanation but her mind couldn’t comprehend what had just happened.

Kris sat on the edge of bed and had watched the sun rise. He couldn’t really think straight as shock was still present in his state of mind. He cocked his head to his side and rubbed his lower lip with his index finger in a thinking matter. Many things were running through his head like a 100m marathon.

“Heo Jihyun…” He mumbled the name to himself.

How did everyone know her and yet he didn’t know who exactly she was. It was like a ghost with just a name. No one else knew anything else. It was odd to him.

He stood up and exhaled sharply. “Heo…Jihyun…?”

“Ya!”

Kris jumped and turned to his door way to meet the eyes of the strong-minded women he called mother.

“Aish, umma!” He shouted in scared anger with a hand over his racing heart.

The short and stocky women walked further in. “Ya~ you’ve been saying that name atleast 50 times! Who is it?! This person is beginning to give me a headache!”

“Well why are you spying on me?! You’re supposed to knock!” Kris snapped.

His mother stared at him and raised her hand to smack him on the head. “Huh? You want to say that again? Huh?!”

Kris flinched and retrieved from his lash. “…nevermind…”

She patted the back of her neck as her blood pressure raised. “Aish…” She looked down at her trophy son. “Yaah, anyways this came in yesterday.” She handed him a manila envelope.

Kris stared at it before taking it and opening it. His eyes scanned the various papers before looking back at his mother. “What is this?” Well he knew what it was but he wasn’t sure if he was imagining it.

“It’s the school you’re going to. I don’t know how you were found but that’s a full scholarship and you’re going.” She slightly demanded in a stern voice.

He looked back down at the class catalogue for majors. “But…I don’t want to.” He was never big when it came to school and he wasn’t exactly excited about it being a live in.

“Ya!” She grabbed the papers and smacked Kris on the head with them. “We spent endless money for your vocal lessons, you’re doing this!” She raised her hand again threateningly.

“OKAY!” Kris said. “Sheesh…” He mumbled. “Let me atleast get dressed and packed!” He flinched again at his moms’ movement but nonetheless watched her leave with a sigh of relief.

“So Yixing, have you been enjoying Seoul?” Mrs. Heo asked.

Yixing listened at his fathers translation before nodding. “Yes, it’s very different.” He spoke in broken Korean. His Korean was fairly good but manageable to survive but his understanding of it wasn’t the best.

“I’m sure China is quite beautiful, why else would my wife continuously go?” Mr. Heo chuckled as he stared lovingly at his wife. The other couple had laughed along, Yixing’s mother not knowing an ounce of what they were saying; only having the trust of her husband to explain well.

Yixing whispered to his father before sitting up straight. His father smiled, “Yixing would like to know if you accomplished on finding his friend.”

Mr. Heo smiled. “We did. I talked with the school as well and they agreed after much persuasion.”
“We hope he does as well as Yixing. And glad that he’s found someone that he can be comfortable with.” Mrs. Heo showed her pearl white teeth. “We know how shy he can get around Jihyun, so it’s nice that he’ll have a friend in such a new environment.”

Jihyun leaned against the stair railing; looking down at what could be mistaken as a meeting. She narrowed her eyes at the boy below.

“Mrs. Shau…what exactly is going on?” She asked, her eyes still fixated on the far more emotionless boy then she could ever be.

Mrs. Shau stood straight beside Jihyun like a loyal nanny. “When your mother went to China she saw that boy down there and instantly thought of you. She says you’re fated to be together, thus concluding” She turned to Jihyun. “Your future husband.”

Jihyun froze. “W-what?”

“He’ll be attending to your schools counterpart as a foreign exchange. If you do not like him, be thankful that he attends the boys school and your mother not making you both live together.”

“Thankful? They’re pimping me right now-“

“Watch your mouth Miss Jihyun.” She bowed at Jihyun. “You’ll be leaving shortly.”

o1|| Flowerboy Ramyun Shop|| Review
So this was my very first K-drama that I finished in early April of this year. I was very hesitant to watch any k-drama because I've heard that they are very cliche (which I learned to love) and predictable.

Nonetheless I wanted to start with something that I'd enjoy so my first stop was a comedy/romance -which I must say Korea does very well in- called Flowerboy Ramyun Shop.

Concept: So the overall concept is basically a women who sadly has no luck in men (very common amongst us all) becomes interested in someone that she thought once was older but actually turns out to be a rich spoiled brat that is still in high-school. It indeed portrays the title of the Drama as you're given the exact of flowerboy's, as well as seeing them work in a ramyun shop.

Writing: One of the things I loved was that it would break into a rather dramatic and emotional scene but instantly turns into a comedic situation within a second. The scenes are rather hilarious and executed well towards character personalities. Not to mention that the romance is instant and not a half of the show tug of war between the main characters (you know we all hate that). Plus the pinch of bromance is quite cute. And the kiss scenes are quite marvelous on Jung Ilwoo's part (he looks like an ah-mazing kisser).

Characters:
Eunbi (Lee Chung-ah), is the leading lady of the drama. I love the fact that her character handles situation in a very realistic way. Her personality is very strong and shines through instantly. Not to mention that she looks seemingly like Park Sandara (2NE1)

Chisoo (Jung Ilwoo), is the leading man. You'll find that he is very inexperienced when it comes to the actually real world without his fortune and realization to love. But you will also see his rather mature and charismatic side when things are going his way or when he has to prove how much of a man he is rather then a kid.

Kanghyuk (Lee Kiwoo) is like in many k-drama's the other man that has feelings for the leading lady but can't seem to be mutually felt. His character was definitely an odd one, being immature but at the same time being a man (his height helping him) in burdensome situations. The fact that he is lays down and falls asleep at the most ridiculous times give him that ounce of adorable cuteness.

Bawool (Park Minwoo) was actually my favorite character. Although he got me quite mad at the confusion of his perception on thinking, he was an absolute character that is memorable.

Hyunwoo (Jo Yoonwoo) was a very minor character, his personal situation did play a part of the storyline but that fact that he knew Chisoo more gave his character an advantage to shine. He was very much like an awkward turtle when it came to the bromance between him and Bawool but he was very gently and motherly.

Overall: It's a good show if you want realistic drama and well-done comedy. It's equipped with eye candy in many different ways that makes the characters fit the ideal type of a variety of female viewers. Although it might have you scratching your head at some parts, you'll be able to enjoy the emotional moments that end with laughter and uplifting atmosphere.

I recommend it for those days that you have to wait for a new drama episode to come out/get subbed.
